History of the Department:
The Department of Botany was established in Sept 2008 with 1 sanctioned posts and offering B.Sc (CBZ) course in Telugu Medium. Later, the Department is also allowed to admit English medium students. The Department is provided with highly experienced and dedicated teaching staff namely Botany is one of the major departments in our college which is committed to the development of academic excellence in teaching. Botany Department has one laboratory, one class room. The Department of Botany provides quality education, awareness on competitive examinations. The Botany Department is following the CBCS pattern and the Curriculum is designed by Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. There is more demand for CBZ group and more than 40 students are admitted every year. The girl students are being admitted more in number rather than the boys in every year.
The Botany Department has one big Laboratory for conduction of practical classes. The lab provided with more than 25 Microscopes, which enable to operate individually by the students. The outside of the Department is having wide corridor to take up study hours, Assignments and internal examinations. Besides, the Department is also having Drinking water facility.
For every semester, the students are provided with study material. The department organizes awareness programs on Health and environment, sciences, social service activities. In the weekends, clean and green program.

- To impart theoretical and practical knowledge of the subject to students
- To promote students to pursue their higher education in Botany
- To help the students to get employment opportunities
- To create scientific temper and vigor, keen vision in the minds of students
- To promote environmental and human friendly outlook in theuminds of stake holders for the present and forth coming generations
